Information about Bansko

Once known for more traditional activities, Bansko has now become a centre of both winter and summer tourism. The area is a haven for recreation due to the close proximity of mountains, pine woods and lakes. The area is also renowned for its thermal springs. Banya, a village 5km from Bansko has a total of 27 mineral springs. The Bansko Jazz Festival has also created international popularity. Bansko is the worlds fourth winter resort with a five star hotel from the Kempinski group.

In 2003, a new gondola lift was constructed in Bansko. Previous to this, the journey to the slopes of Todorka was via minibus. Further gondolas are / have been installed in the area since. It is this kind of investment into the infrastructure of Bansko as well as the building of quality apartments / housing that has made the town such a popular location for tourism and property investment.
