Albatera is a medium sized village of white houses and wide streets lined with palm trees. The church, located on a square, has a beautiful baroque door. The village’s economic activities are almost evenly split between agriculture and industry and a complex network of canals and irrigation channels dating back to the Roman times means that 60% of Albatera’s cultivable land is now irrigated. Citric fruits, vegetables and dates are some of the typical produce grown which farmers take to markets throughout the province. In addition to agriculture, hemp products such as brooms and brushes are also produced. Set in the scenic countryside surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra de Crevillent you can enjoy all year round golf in a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. All essential amenities/facilities are available within the village which is perhaps more Spanish than most other towns in the area. Albatera crosses the N-340 Valencia-Alicante-Murcia interstate road. To get to the village from the motorway take exit 78 North from Alicante and exit 78 South from Murcia. The nearest beaches are about 15 mins drive away.
