BENALMADENA INFORMATION

Benalmadena is located 16KM to the West of Malaga. Benalmadena's tourism occurred after that of Torremolinos' and it has managed to maintain an excellent family holiday enviroment. Because of its beautiful marina this is one of the busiest tourist areas with crowded beaches, an abundance of bars and restaurants that cater for all tastes. The Benalmadena Puerto Marina is the definitely the place to go for "party goers". Popular with the locals, this marina also draws the many thousands of tourists with its cosmopolitan atmosphere. There are many attractions in Benalmadena such as the sea-life center, Tivoli theme park (excellent for the younger children) and the new Selwo center (with Dolphine, Sealion and exotic bird shows). The Torrequebrada hotel and casino boasts one of the finest shows in the area. There is the superb golf course nearby although this is only one of many. The beautiful Benalmadena Pueblo (the old village) is situated above the coastline about ten minutes drive from the marina. Originally the heart of Benalmadena this village remains typically Andaluz.
