Land in Alhaurin de la Torre - Spain |
ALHAURIN DE LA TORRE A PERFECT DEVELOPMENT INVESTMENT
The meaning of the name Alhaurin itself seems unclear, and has been variously translated, but originates with the Moors who occupied the area for several centuries. Some possible translations include "the valley" or hollow (from "Al-Haur"), or "The Garden of Allah". Or it might originate in "Alhauerin" which means "Almighty God". The Spanish eventually recaptured the whole of Andalucia, including both Alhaurins, towards the end of the fifteenth century.
These days Alhaurin de la Torre is a typical Spanish town, with a full complement of shops, bars restaurants, banks, supermarkets, etc.
Eating, and drinking, is generally much cheaper than in the UK. There are a number of restaurants where a good three course meal including wine can be had for the equivalent of five pounds per head. Equally the Costa del Sol has its fair share of expensive high class restaurants, if that's more your style.
Alhaurín de la Torre (population of 30,281) is a town in Málaga province in Andalucia, Southern Spain. The town is part of Málaga Metropolitan Area, but traditionally belongs to the Guadalhorce Valley shire. It sits at the entrance to the Guadalhorce valley on the slopes of the Sierra de Mijas mountains, 10.5 miles (17 km) from Málaga city.
The traditional and the modern live comfortably side by side in this town, with its old Moorish-style streets and houses in the Barrio Viejo and the modern housing estates and villas on the outskirts. Alhaurín de la Torre has become a prosperous municipality in which services are the main source of income. It was historically an agrarian village, where citrus and subtropical fruit plantations and olive groves still cover the landscape.
The biggest attraction for visitors to Alhaurin de la Torre is undoubtedly the gardens of El Retiro. Founded in the 17th Century by Fray Alonso de Santo Tomás, Bishop of Málaga, and originally use by him as his retirement home (hence, El Retiro) the gardens display an impressive variety of plant and wild life.
Each section attempts to recreate the natural habitat of the creatures housed in it, from semi-desert to tropical swamp. The manor house at its centre has also been impressively restored.
Alhaurin de la Torre has various types of villas, apartments, properties and land to suit all needs. Alhaurin de la Torre has some remarkable beaches and great restaurant in its beautiful town. Alhaurin de la Torre would be the ideal place to buy a property or rent a holiday villa in Spain.
Located on the main Road running through the town with two accesses is this excellent investment
